Our Merino wool blankets are a very sensitive element and cannot be washed in the washing machine. As a normal blanket they need to be cleaned periodically. The fine wool we use is very delicate, and you’ll need to keep a few simple rules in mind when using it:

Handle it with care  / Manejarlo con cuidado

 

Our woolen blankets are made from unspun merino roving, some shedding and pilling will occur naturally. The heavier the use, the more damage the blanket will have.

Stay away from places where it’s likely to get a stain

To ensure that your blanket stays looking like new, make sure to keep it away from areas where it’s likely to get a stain.

Shake shake, shake / Agitar, agitar, agitar

The faster way to take care of undesired dust,hairs is give it a good shake! And with a shake you will take care of the deformed stitches you may have from using it.

Remove pilling by hand / Retire las bolitas a mano

 

Pilling will naturally occur in merino wool blankets with use. Don’t use any pilling machine, do it by hand.

Just pinch the part that’s pilled, and pull on it in the direction of the wool. Unless you end up taking off too much, your chunky blanket should look just like new!

 

Pilling ocurrirá naturalmente en mantas de lana merino con el uso. No use ninguna máquina de pilling, hazlo a mano.

Solo pellizque la parte de la bolita, y tire de ella en la dirección de la lana. ¡A menos que termines quitando demasiado, tu mantita gruesa debería verse como nueva!

 

Clean stains right away / Limpie las manchas de inmediato

 

If you get a stain on your merino blanket, you should clean it right away. If you accidentally spilled something, run that area of the blanket under cold water. Once the stain has been washed out, put that spot between two towels and give it a gentle squeeze. Afterwards, put the blanket on a surface where it’s going to get a lot of air, and make sure to flip it periodically until it dries.

Never wash a merino wool blanket in the washing machine! The combination of water, heat, and friction will cause the blanket to felt and lose its softness and it’s shape.

 

Si manchas tu manta de merino, debes limpiarla de inmediato. Si accidentalmente derramas algo, pasa esa área de la manta por agua fría. Una vez que la mancha ha sido lavada, coloca esa parte entre dos toallas y aprieta suavemente. Después, coloca la manta sobre una superficie donde va a tomar mucha aire, y asegúrate de voltearla periódicamente hasta que se seque.

¡Nunca laves una manta de lana merino en la lavadora! La combinación de agua, calor y fricción hará que la manta pierda su suavidad y su forma.
